Working in a collaborative creative partnership Jack and Sarah have been working together since 2008. Sarah worked as the Gallery Assistant and exhibition co-ordinator at the Leach Pottery contemporary ceramics gallery between 2008 - 2010 facilitating exhibitions curated by Jack in his role as Creative Director.
Exhibitions including Formed in Fire, Setting the Place and Slipware promoted studio ceramic practice in a historical and contemporary context by showcasing both the work of emerging and established potters. The gallery also hosted exhibitions of work by international artists in residency at the pottery including Koie Ryoie, Tomoo Hamada and Akira Yagi.
Jack and Sarah have continued working together in extensively promoting exhibitions both in the UK and Ireland as well as Taiwan and Japan. Sarah completed an MA in Curatorial Practice at Falmouth University in 2012 and co-curated Moon Jar: Contemporary Translations at the Korean Cultural Centre 2013.
As a curator, Sarah looks for alternative spaces to engage audiences. These itinerant places can be a catalyst for the unexpected, making new connections and discoveries between viewers and artworks. The interaction of objects within a physical space. A series of exhibitions sited beyond the conventional gallery space began with a Place in the World in 2012.
