LIVING SPACE

The Limited Edition book, Living Space, is a compilation of writings, significant articles and images recording and documenting a visual journey from 2008 to 2018. Through these layers and textures of voices the book reflects a rich and creative decade that starts and ends with a beginning.

I live with ceramic vessels. Their forms and volume, edges and textures, spill from the studio into every room in the house. Displayed on ledges windowsills and mantelpieces, they create an intervention with domestic space and daily life. My way of life and work is inseparable. In these living spaces my pots speak for themselves.
— Jack Doherty

Living Space is edited by Sarah Frangleton with contributions by Tina Byrne, Marta Donaghey, Dr Eleanor Flegg and Professor Simon Olding. A rich archive of images and photography by Rebecca Peters and Ellen Doherty. Graphic Design by Fiona Routledge.

I got my hands on Jack’s stunning new book Living Space. Containing 128 pages of luscious full-page images and articles, Living Space is a celebration of Jack Doherty’s personal practice and his significant achievements and contribution to Ceramics over the last decade.
I devoured it in one sitting. There is plenty to chew on in a very accessible often lyrical way, and beautiful images to pore over and inspire for years.
