Kiln Diary #15
Despite the wind and the rain in Cornwall it has been a productive, yet challenging time, in the studio. With the horror of the war and unfolding events in Ukraine filling the news I feel thankful to be able to carry on making my work with love and care. I am grateful for the human connection it brings and the heart-warming messages I receive from people who find pleasure and a sense of comfort from my pots. This generosity of spirit helps me to stay positive and creative.
As the evenings begin to lengthen, I have started to prepare for the first soda-firing of the year with pieces for my Spring. Make a note in your diary for the beginning of May and the Spring Bank Holiday. I will confirm the day and time in the April Kiln Diary following soon. Many thanks to all who have contacted me for dates for the next online collection and for your patience.
LIVING SPACE
In other news, I am pleased to announce we are launching a revised version of our book Living Space. This second edition, limited to 500 copies, has some small updates and a few new images. This special book is a visual feast celebrating a rich and creative decade through a compilation of writings, significant articles and beautiful photographs. Signed copies of Living Space will be available to pre-order from today on my website and we will be sending them out in the first week of April.
An exhibition, Living Space, will also be opening at our Trinity House Studio and Gallery space in July. For the first time, some of the vessels from my collection featured and photographed in the book, will be available to buy from the gallery and online. More about this nearer the time.
To order your copy of Living Space today please follow the link.
We have been giving our Trinity House studio in Penzance a makeover and adding some finishing touches to the gallery space. During April and throughout the Easter holidays the Gallery will be open to visitors and we look forward to greeting you. Please contact me to arrange a dedicated appointment to the studio. If you are unable to make it down to Cornwall we always have a selection of work available and if you have a special gift to buy or any particular requests I would be happy to help. Contact me here.
